A tea party
This picture reminded me of the hallway of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Imagine what a terrific tea party this would make! Especially with that dream library next door...!

Once upon a time...
Anyone in for a movie night this Saturday? If so, I have just the thing for you!
Once upon a time is the name of a television series I am watching nowadays. Simply imagine a place where all your beloved fairy tale characters have mixed and reformed into something else entirely and taken a leap into our own world - and there you have it! It is most fun!
The plot is as follows:
The Evil Queen from the fairy tale of Snow White casts a curse upon everyone in the fairy tale world, transporting them into our real world and a town called Storybrooke. All the characters lose their memory of what they truly are and become regular citizens filling up different occupations in the town. An effect of the curse is that time stands still in Storybrooke, which leads to no aging, no changes, no visitors and no escapes. They do the same every day with no memory of how long they have been doing this. It has all been "for as long as they can remember". Enter Emma Swan. She is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming (yes, they got a daughter!) and happened to escape the curse before it swallowed everything. Her arrival in the town sets events in motion - and the clock starts ticking!
In each episode we are being told the back story of one of the fairy tale characters. You get the story of how Snow White and Prince Charming met, how Snow White came to be with the dwarves, how the dwarves lived before they met her, how a fairy becomes a Fairy God Mother, what happened to Red Riding Hood, how Jiminy Cricket became precisely that, how Belle came to fall in love with the Beast and so on...and none of these stories are quite what you think they are going to be.
I had fun watching the first season - and I hope you will as well.
Have a great Saturday wherever you are!

It does not take much.
It does not take much to make someone’s day a little brighter. Just give it a try!
I love the Disney stories and all the small acts of kindness that is so common in them. The characters always manage to put a smile on my face.

My Library
“It’s my favourite! Far-off places, daring sword fights, magic spells, a prince
in disguise...” - Belle
There is something about libraries. When I first saw our house I instantly knew where my library would be. That room! So, after moving in - first thing first - the shelves to my new library was bought and set up. It took a day or two until everything was set, but then I could start figuring out where to put which book. A pure delight! I spent hours in that room pondering where I wanted fantasy, kidlit, novels, school books, encyclopedias and so on. Of course, after three years most of them have been moved (and moved yet again) due to lack of space (I swear books grow - three years ago there was plenty of space in there...!). One exception, though - my fantasy books. They are still on the shelves I first put them, perhaps because fantasy is my favourite genre and so got the prime place in the room from the very beginning.
Every library needs a place to sit down, and I had the perfect object. I inherited my great grandparents old bed some years ago. It has this old, worn look that comes with old age - and it has history. My gran tells stories of how her and her siblings in the early 1920's sat on it pretending to be hens and jumping around flapping their hands as wings! This was way before television or internet, mind you. She is 95 years old now. She was so excited to see the bed get a new home - that someone actually still wants to keep it. I fitted it with a new mattress and plenty of cushions so it is soft and cozy, and it is now a perfect little hideaway ♥
